Welcome to Transition York Region!
We are a group of people scattered across York Region who are concerned with the inter-connected global issues of economic instability, fossil fuel depletion, and the degradation of our environment from burning fossil fuels.
We are doing our part to create personal resilience and are looking for others to work with to create community resilience.
At this time Transition York Region is inactive, however we are holding this Hub intact to support and spark the beginnings of local community, municipality and neighbourhood Transition Initiatives across the Region. If you are interested in starting an initiative in your community, please let us know and we’ll support in any way we can! We will certainly add a link to your initiative, here on this site, so that others in your community can be directed to your group.
As we transition to more local groups, here are the smaller units that are emerging. Links will be provided as soon as they are available.
